Where: In eastern New York, the southern Adirondacks, the western Mohawk Valley, and the northern Taconics in eastern Rensselaer County. In Massachusetts, Berkshire County. In southern Vermont, Bennington and Windham Counties.
When: Until 1 in the afternoon this afternoon.
Impacts: The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 25 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures. Using non-approved heating devices in your home can lead to fires and carbon monoxide poisoning.
